One of the practices I have developed is carrying my sketchbook wherever I go, as a way to reflect on and respond to things I hear. One of my favorite times is during the Sunday morning worship time. I did this sketch in response to a series of messages our pastor brought, entitled “Deeply Rooted”.
Spiritual depth develops slowly, over a lifetime, in response to the many experiences we face along the way. It is a long and steady process, with times of growth intermingled with stretches of quietness.
We are to be deeply rooted in our Faith, but we are also to be deeply rooted in our community, and in the lives of those who are around us. The measure of our relationship with God is reflected in how we impact the lives of those who are around us.
